Well, for now, you can enjoy the South Korea trip virtually with K-pop stars! The very first in the series is the K-pop boy band, MONSTA-X.

Do the members of MONSTA-X like planned or unplanned trips?

According to MONSTA-X, whenever you go on a trip, there are two kinds of people and trips – the planned and the unplanned. Within the band, half of your favorites like planned trips while the others like their trips unplanned. Hyungwon and Kihyun like newness created by improvisation while Minhyuk and Joohoney like planned trips. I.M and Shownu are more ambiguous in the sense that they will plan, but if there’s any change, they will make it work.

You can also check out the virtual tour of Jeju Island as a part of UNESCO campaign.

MONSTA-X and their Favorite Foods

There are some of the foods and dishes members of the K-pop boy band crave during trips. These dishes can be eaten together with everyone! Although everyone’s favorite is instant noodles with soju, here are some of their favorites.

Hyungwon’s Favorite Travel Food

He likes fresh grilled king shrimps. King Shrimp (Daeha) inhabit the west and south seas of Korea. It’s a seasonal crustacean that’s available in September and October. It has high-protein content and mineral content. The dish is gaining popularity, especially when shrimp are grilled with salt.

Minhyuk’s Favorite Travel Food

He likes Flounder Sashimi, a high priced food that you want to try if you go to a specific area. Sashimi is an essential menu for sea travel in South Korea. Flounder common during the September to December season and is a high-protein, low-fat fish species. There is no fishy smell in the dish, and its loved by people of all ages!

Shownu’s Favorite Travel Food

He likes food that can be eaten comfortably and to him, that is pork belly. It’s a slice of lean meat and scaffolding layered on each other. Pork belly is definitely a representative food of South Korea and is also considered a must-try for visitors in South Korea.

Joohoney’s Favorite Travel Food

He likes grilled hyore. It is carefully grilled eel with spices and is considered a high-protein food. It’s a popular summer food in South Korea.

Kihyun’s Favorite Travel Food

Kihyun likes red crab that is found at the depths of 45-600 m under the East Sea. It’s a shellfish that is loved for its unique aroma and taste. Kihyun’s choice is a seasonal dish that you can get in the months from January to June and September to December.

I.M’s Favorite Travel Food

His dish of choice is a spicy stew with potato, radish, and braised cutlassfish. In July to October during the season, the sashimi is grilled and shredded in the stew. Jeju Eungalchi is a typical fish that is added to the stew, and it can be eaten in various forms.

Travel Memories of MONSTA-X

Pork Rice Soup

Pork Rice Soup is one food they have enjoyed quite a lot on their trips to Busan. At one time, they even ate the soup for breakfast as nothing else was open at that time.

As the representative food of Busan, Pork Rice Soup attracts the public with a rich broth and soft pork and is a popular menu. It has some crunchy bits, Seokkbakji. A Busan pork soup is a unique dish that you must try. It is very different from all other rice soups.

Momguk Soup

It is a local food of Jeju Island, and it’s a soup containing algae and pork] Momguk soup is really delicious. It has Hijiki (belongs to algae family) on the top that’s unique. It’s a dish they enjoyed while visiting Jeju Island.

Suana in Gapyeong

There is a big sauna in the open, like an open-air outdoor bath. If you visit in the winters, you can enjoy the harmony of cold air and warm hot spring. As the sauna is outdoors, you can enjoy nature with beautiful sky spread out before your eyes. It’s one of Joohoney’s memories of a trip to Gapyeong. He mentions that it is perfect for someone who enjoys nature in every situation.

MONSTA-X Trip Music

While traveling, to maximize the travel feeling, you need music. And who else is more qualified to give you some recommendations other than your favorite K-pop band!

Hyungwon’s Playlist

He likes songs that are good to listen to start the trip like a song called ‘Shine.’ It’s a song that expresses a fluttering start and anticipation of what we should do next. Check out: Felix Jaehn – ‘Shine’ (feat. Freddy Verano, Linying).

Minhyuk’s Playlist

For him, right now, rather than going on a trip, he is thinking a lot about going on one. So, his choice of music is quite inspired by that. Hangang from Hoody is a song with evening vibes and enjoying it while traveling along the Han River.

Shownu’s Playlist

He likes songs that give him a feeling like the feeling of four bottles of soju. A situation where your sanity goes back and forth at the end of the day. For Shownu, Nothing Compares from The Weekend is a dreamy song with this kind of emotion.

Joohoney’s Playlist

He also likes Shownu’s choice, but for him, the vibe is quite different as he feels its a song for morning. Personally, he likes listening to Butterfly from Loveholics in the morning when he’s starting his journey on a trip. To him, it’s like a wakeup song.

Kihyun’s Playlist

After everyone has selected morning and night vibes, Kihyun chooses to share a favorite daylight vibe music. For him, The Remedy from Jason Mraz is synonymous with a noon feeling.

I.M’s Playlist

He goes with the end of the day vibe that can relax your body and relax your soul. I Fall in Love Too Easily from Chet Baker is favorite from the legendary jazz singer.

How to solve your desire to travel for a while according to MONSTA-X?

The best way to do that, according to MONSTA-X, is to reminisce about the travel memories of food. If you have delicious food at home, then you can get a feel of travel. Listen to music.

“Until the day we can travel, you can relax at home and enjoy good food and good music.”

MONSTA-X

They are looking forward to traveling, meeting with fans. Till then, they are going to be reliving the feeling of traveling.
