Good food in a relaxing atmosphere is among the highlights of any trip. So when you’re out in Daegu, South Korea, these top restaurants are definitely worth visiting.

This list has restaurants with a variety of atmospheres, but they’re all calm and comforting. And of course, they offer amazing food too!

Gugil Galbi

A must-try if you want to savor authentic Korean recipes, Gugil Galbi is one of the best-reviewed restaurants in Daegu.

There is staff here that speak English, making life a lot easier for tourists. They also have a ton of side dish options that are as colorful as they are tasty! However, it is a bit towards the pricey side.

If you love meat, you will definitely love Gugil Galbi. The raw ribs served here are among the recommended dishes to try out.

Noriteo

If you’re looking to spend a relaxing evening along with amazing food, look no further than Noriteo! This restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere where you can play board games and card games.

Several of these games are in English as well, and there are even two cats you can play with!

There is a large selection of food and drink options (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). This combo of delicious food and chilled-out atmosphere has earned Noriteo a whopping 4.9-star rating on Google!

Gaejeong

Gaejeong has been in business for over 40 years now. They serve authentic traditional Korean dishes, and their Bibimbap varieties are a crowd favorite. You could also try out their Mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles).

If you are a vegetarian, they will even prepare your Bibimbap without meat! This one is a must-visit for the foodies out there.

The ambiance over here is simple yet easy-going, and you can enjoy the delicacies offered here without breaking the bank.

Snow Pea Sushi & Rolls

Another highly rated restaurant, Snow Pea Sushi & Rolls, is a haven for seafood fanatics. The staff here speak English as well, and the service is quick.

They serve authentic Japanese and American-style Sushi, along with other seafood you would commonly find in the West.

The food in this Daegu restaurant is exceptional, to say the least. You could order anything, and it’s almost guaranteed that you will love it.

The ambiance is similar to that of a medium-sized café – simple yet inviting.

No wonder it has received 4.7 stars on Google Reviews!

Hanokjib

The interiors are super practical and straightforward, so this isn’t a place you can hang out in.

However, this restaurant has the unique distinction for being the most reviewed restaurant on Google within the Daegu region. And when such a restaurant gets 4.3 stars out of 5, you know it’s the real deal!

What’s more, it isn’t super expensive either! The Kimchi stew is highly recommended, and there are unlimited refills for the side dishes!

Zione

If you fancy Italian cuisine, this is the place to be at! They’ve got authentic Calzones, Pasta and Pizzas from wood-fired ovens.

The ambiance of this place is very unusual. You can either sit indoors or outdoors. Indoors, the décor is a bit towards the busy side. There are pipes and tubes overhead that give it an industrial feel.

Outside, you can sit under the open sky among greenery and vibrant flowers.

This is a great place to be if you want to hang out and add another special experience to the Daegu trip. The restaurant is located down an alley, so it’s perfect for a quiet evening or a lazy afternoon.

La Salud

Here you can find classic American foods, ranging from Hamburgers to Briskets and Mac n Cheese. It is also the top-rated Barbeque joint in Daegu.

This is the best American experience you can have in the area. The menu is also available in English, the staff is friendly, and it’s reasonably priced.

The interiors have an industrial look but also feel light and airy. They also have themes during different festivities like Christmas and Halloween.

Apart from this, there are large TV screens on which you can watch sports with your friends.

Poonawala

This one is for the spice lovers out there! Indian food is served here, and they offer various types of naan, curries, kebabs and even samosas.

The menu is a bit towards the pricier side in this restaurant in Daegu. However, Coffee and Green Tea are available for free.

The interiors feature a clean and super spacious, airy design. There are huge windows for natural light and artwork reminding one of the Mughal eras. You have an unobstructed view of the lake next to the restaurant.

You can place your orders using tablets that are placed on the table. They also have cushions for the chairs to make you that much more comfortable.

Black Taco and Grill

Nachos, Tacos and Fajitas – everything Mexican is served here. The price is not too high, and the food is delicious; however, it’s not as spicy as traditional Mexican cuisine.

If you want something spicy that won’t make you run to the washroom, this is a great option.

It has a café – like a vibe, and it makes you feel warm and cozy. The framework is made of wood, which adds to the cozy feel of the place.

 Dining Ce Lieu

If you fancy a calm and relaxed fine dining experience, this restaurant in Daegu is where you want to be. They serve French cuisine, and it’s expensive here.

You can literally spend hours here enjoying various culinary delights. As one would expect from a fine dining restaurant, it does have a high-end feel to it.

The staff is friendly and explains the details of each dish in detail. If it’s your birthday or anniversary, they will make it more special by giving you a special dessert with a candle.
