Lovable characters, tearjerking storylines, beautiful cinematography, what’s not to love in Korean dramas. Many of them have filming locations around Seoul and feature several romantic destinations. But, you might not have time to visit all the amazing K-drama filming locations. So, here’s our pick of the top 3 romantic destinations in Seoul – Petite France, N Seoul Tower, and Cheonggyecheon Stream.

Petite France

If you are dreaming of a romantic European escape, then Petite France is the ideal place for you. It’s not France but its the closest you can get in Asia. You can indulge in the European experience even if you are in South Korea!

Petite France resembles an idyllistic town in French countryside inspired by “The Little Prince”, a famous French novel. The town is about an hour away from Seoul and easy to reach. Petite France has 16 French-style buildings and 23 attractions along with the Little Prince inspired art. The blue, red, yellow houses will certainly give you pause as you enter the beautiful dream houses.

Theatre de l’etoile or the theater of the star si that place where you can admire dolls from all over the world. If you are interested in classical music, you can enjoy a hundred-years-old demonstration in the Orgel House.

To make the outing more romantic, you can take a stroll among the quaint buildings and restaurants. You can even reenact scenes from your favorite K-drama whose shooting was in Petite France like “My Love from the Star”, “Beethoven Virus”, and others.

Petite France Admission Fee: KRW 8,000 for adults and KRW 6,000 for children.

N Seoul Tower

The iconic landmark of Seoul stands 479.7 meters above Namsan Hill and offers some of the spectacular views across Seoul. The N Seoul Tower was opened in 1980 and got the letter “N” after its renovation in 2005 depicting ‘new’ look.

After you arrive at the tower, you can take a ride in the express elevator that takes you up to the Obersevatory Tower. From here, you can see the 360 degrees panoramic view of the city.

N Seoul Tower romantic destinations

You can enjoy a dinner in the lap of luxury with French food prepared by Michelin star chef at n.Grill. It is a revolving restaurant in the tower where you can enjoy the mouthwatering food with scintillating night views of Seoul.

Profess your love with the love locks at the N Seoul Tower for the ultimate romance! According to tradition, writing names of two lovers on a lock and fixing it at the base of the N Seoul Tower will secure the couple’s love forever. It is one of the few places in the world where such symbols are actively encouraged. To double up the magic, make a wish in the Wishing Pond at the second floor of the tower.

Cheonggyecheon Stream

For getting a glimpse of the local dating scene, visit the Cheonggyecheon Stream. It is an urban renewal project that runs about 8.4 km long and is more than 15 feet deep underground. In the jungle of tall majestic towers, it serves as a hidden oasis in the city center.

Many local couples enjoy taking a stroll by the stream in evenings. The pretty lights and fountains add on to the romantic vibe of the place! There are 38 exits/entrances for the stream so it is convenient for you to enter the stream from multiple points.

Cheonggyecheon Stream

The most common route that people take starts at the Cheonggye Plaza near the signature Spring Sculpture. You will be able to cover famous tourist spots like the Royal Guards Changing Ceremony, shopping in Insa-dong, and many more!

To make your trip to this romantic destination in Seoul special, visit the stream in the month of November. During this period, the Cheonggyecheon Stream hosts the Seoul Lantern Festival where visitors can enjoy the magnificent lantern displays. Buy your own lanters and make a wish with your loved ones amidst the autumn night.
