There are many great places to eat in the area of Hongdae, but one restaurant type that is particularly popular with foreigners and locals alike is K-BBQ buffet. Check out our recommendations of the best K-BBQ buffet restaurants in and near Hongdae for a tummy-filling, mouth-watering, food coma-like experience.

Tongkeun Galbi
Tongkeun Galbi is the perfect place to visit when craving Korean BBQ but wants a more casual environment. It’s a great spot because you can order as much or as little food as you want, and they have a wide variety of dishes to choose from.
They offer a huge portion of grilled pork galbi, wonderfully seasoned with a somewhat sweet marinade. They also provide a lunch set menu. You eat the pork galbi until you’re almost full and then order the beef galbi or samgyupsal as a separate dish.
Ganggangsullae
If you’re looking for a delicious and affordable all-you-can-eat buffet in Hongdae, then Dwe-ji-sang-hwe is your place. With both pork belly and chicken options and various side dishes, you’re sure to be complete by the end of your meal. They also have a salad bar as well as several different types of soup to choose from, so there is something for everyone at this buffet. The restaurant gets pretty smoky, though, so make sure to bring a plastic bag or something similar to protect any handbags or purses you might have brought along.
Pork University
Pork University is in Hapjeong, near Hongdae. You’ll never forget the flavor of the meat here once you’ve tasted it. The restaurant features buffet service, with unlimited lettuce and side dishes available. The samgyeopsal here is fantastic because it doesn’t use frozen pork and has a potent aroma due to its grilled over charcoal. It’s pretty easy to cook.
However, you may become wary of eating quickly because there are only a few meat choices. Tteokbokki is also limitless, but you can only pick one flavor, and the restaurant has a lot of smoke from the grills within.
MUSSO
MUSSO is a great place to visit when you want a good Korean BBQ but don’t feel like going out. You can order their lunch sets from 11 AM-2:30 PM and dinner sets from 5:30 PM, closing at midnight! Their beef galbi comes in three different cuts: regular, thin slices of high-quality meat; the second cut, which is a bit thicker and juicier; and then the third cut, which is very thick. The quality of the meat is pretty decent. There are also two additional AYCE options: one for ₩ 23,800 that includes beef, shrimp, and yukhoe (steak tartare), and the other for ₩ 21,300 that provides for sauces, side dishes, and lettuces.
Ungteori Meats
There is a sampyeopsal all-you-can-eat buffet at Ungteori Meats in Seoul where, if you ask a South Korean, what they think the first thing about is sampyeopsal. The Ungteori meat menu consists primarily of sampyeopsal pork and pork neck. The pork at Ungteori Meats is truly unique compared to other restaurants. In addition to this dish, Ungteori Meats also serves soybean paste soup as a complementary side dish. Once you have finished the soup, you can keep refilling it on your own. The restaurant is an excellent place to go if you are moody for samgyeopsal.
We hope this post has given you some ideas about what to expect when you visit a K-BBQ buffet in Hongdae. Whether for lunch or dinner, we think these K-BBQ buffet restaurants are worth checking out if you’re looking for something different from the typical Korean restaurant in Hongdae.
