Visit the familiar filming locations of K-drama Yumi’s Cells, an adaptation of Korean webtoon, on your next visit to South Korea!

Yumi’s Cells depicts the struggle of Yu Mi (Kim Go Eun), an office worker with several brain cells that play a crucial role in her daily life. These cells work hard to be able to establish Yu Mi’s relationship with Goo Wong (Ahn Bo Hyun).

Yumi’s Cells has featured various eye-catching filming locations, and the filming has remained in the South Korean region since the first episode’s premiere. Here is a list of these amazing filming locations of Yumi’s Cells, which you can actually visit in your trip to Korea!

Paju First Garden

In Episode 3, Goo Woong and Yumi had a blind date here, and Goo Woong advises going to the Kkummam Frog Festival in this Garden after seeing a nearby banner. First Garden, also known as Paju First Garden, is a theme park and wedding hall that started in April 2017.

The place consists of 23 gardens, each with a different theme. Upon arriving here, the first garden you will notice is the Toscana Plaza and Step Garden, with a beautiful fountain surrounded by pine trees. The Terrace Garden is another Italian-style garden with a theme of “Apollo,” the Greek God of the Sun.

Your ears will be soothed with the sound of flowing water and classical background music while you appreciate the magnificent landscape.

Ilsan Lake Park Rose Tunnel

This is one of the filming locations of Yumi’s Cells where in the scene Yumi and Ruby meet and attend the Flower Festival together (Episode 12). This scene was shot at Ilsan Lake Park’s lovely tunnel of roses. Visit during the spring to observe the gorgeous flowers and cherry blossoms.

From April to May, there is an annual Goyang flower festival. The park is free; however, there may be exhibitions and festivals that require a ticket. The good news is that Goyang is not far from Seoul and can be reached by metro (orange line) from the Jeongbalsan stop, and it takes approximately 1 to 2 hours from Seoul.

Ilsan Lake Park Garosugil

The Ilsan Lake Park is where in episode 2, Yumi meets Goo Woong for the first time on a blind date near the entrance to this retail mall in Garosugil. This location is a blend of a park and a business region that was built in 2017 and is also known as a European romantic street.

Not only does Ilsan Lake Park include a huge artificial lake, but it also has other attractive tourist attractions, such as an artificial island, a children’s playground, a music fountain, a flower garden with 100 varieties of flowers, and a city forest with 200,000 trees. It first opened to the public on May 4, 1996.

Ilsan Lake Park is located at 595 Hosu-ro, Ilsandong District, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province.

Radio M Café

Remember when Woong abruptly lost his focus when he encountered Yu Mi? (Episode 2) Yu Mi, now in command of her cells, brings Woong to a cafe to unwind over coffee.

Woong tried out his garage joke for the first time at the Radio M café, and Yu Mi answered with a laugh. The Samcheong branch of Radio M is located at 37-2 Samcheong-ro 2-gil, Jongno District, South Korea. The cafe doubles as a gallery with a vintage radio vibe.

Aside from that, the reviews for this café appear to be favorable, with 4 out of 5 stars!

Common Unique Showroom

This is one of the filming locations of Yumi’s Cells where you can see Yumi purchasing items from a popular clothing store in the Hongdae district, which she decides to wear on the spot (Episode 10). Common Unique Showroom, which launched in November 2019 with the slogan “common clothes, unique design,” is well-known for selling stylish Korean clothing.

They claim that their apparel appears “regular,” yet you can’t stop looking at it. The firm takes pleasure in its fashionable and current trends, as well as the attention of fabric textures and small details that make its apparel comfortable and easy to wear, all at a low price.

This label’s celebrity clients include IU, Jang Nara, Hyeri, Park Bo-young, Joy and Yeri from Red Velvet, and Park Shin-hye.

Mochuisle

During his date in Episode 2, Woogie brings Yu Mi to a restaurant after Dengwoo An Woogie is bullied by Ruby (Lee Yu Bi). Woogie reveals her name and introduces Yumi to her best buddy. Yu Mi instantly crushed her heart because she was sincere; Yu Mi adores Woogie.

It is a family-friendly restaurant that offers Western cuisine. The word ‘mochuisle‘ is an Irish expression that means ‘the pulse of my heart’ or ‘my love, my family,’ as defined by the eatery. They want to share “the inspiration of a ‘family supper’ with more people — a ritual of love that sees individuals sitting at one table together, sharing food with affection every day.”
