K-Content Travel Seoul 2025 Guide: Your Passport to Drama, Games, and the Soul of Hallyu

Between June 28 and July 6, 2025, Seoul will turn into a full-scale open-air drama set for fans of everything K-content. But not in the way most guidebooks tell it.

Instead of watching passively, you’ll play games—the actual games—from “Squid Game” in the middle of Gwanghwamun. You’ll walk the same paths where “Queen of Tears” broke hearts and “Vincenzo” whispered revenge.

And instead of following a guide, you’ll scan a Soul Spot QR code and let an AI narrator walk you through your own story—based on how you feel, what you love, and where your K-soul takes you.

Prepare yourself to experience more than just a festival because this time, Seoul is becoming a story only you can finish.

What Is K-Content Travel Week 2025 All About?

Organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in collaboration with Netflix Korea and Visit Korea, this nine-day festival transforms Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul Plaza, and Sejong-daero into an open-city studio set.

During the K-content Seoul Travel Week 2025, you will be part of the actual cast enjoying complete immersion of your favorite K-content. You will have masked guards from Squid Game marching down Sejong-daero in a full-costume parade. A local actor guiding you through real filming spots with stories that hit different when you’re standing on set. Interactive booths that read your mood and recommend a K-drama-themed travel route just for you.

There’s even a live fan finale with Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun, broadcast right in the heart of the city. But what makes this week unforgettable isn’t just the headline events—it’s the feeling that you’re no longer just visiting Seoul. You’re stepping into it, fully immersed, like a character walking through your very own Hallyu storyline.

What’s Happening on Opening Day? Your “Squid Game” Experience, Scene by Scene

June 28 (Saturday) – Opening Ceremony Highlights

4:00 PM @ Seoul Plaza:

Start with the Soul Spot booths and photo zones. Traditional Korean games like ddakji (the paper tile flip game) are available to play onsite. It’s a wink to Squid Game’s infamous red envelope challenge—but here, the stakes are just fun (and merch).

6:30 PM @ Seoul Plaza:

Catch a live K-hip hop performance by Young Posse—a fresh, rising crew blending underground style with Gen Z energy.

7:30 PM Parade @ Sejong-daero:

The full Squid Game marching parade begins at Gwanghwamun and winds its way to Seoul Plaza. Expect eerie visuals, masked guards, drumming squads, and live cosplay in cinematic sync.

8:30 PM Fan Finale @ Seoul Plaza:

This is the moment. The “Squid Game” Season 3 cast appears live—Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, and more—plus an epic media facade show projected across city buildings. You can register via Netflix’s Instagram and official pages. Didn’t make the list? No problem—the show will be screened publicly onsite and streamed online globally.

The Soul Spot Experience Zone

  • Dates: Gwanghwamun Square
  • Location: June 29 – July 6, 2025
  • Opening Hours: Daily 2 to 8 PM (4 PM start on opening day)

Get ready to lose track of time—because this part of your trip won’t feel like sightseeing. It’ll feel like slipping between scenes of your favorite K-dramas, only this time, you’re the one in frame.

At the Soul Spot Experience Zone, you’ll move through Seoul’s real filming locations with storytelling built into every step. Want to try your hand at ddakji, like the red envelope challenge from Squid Game? You can. Curious about where Crash Landing on You or Queen of Tears were filmed? The Soul Spot Travel Booth hands you curated routes, local food stops, and QR codes that unlock deeper stories at each spot.

And if you want something more personal? Join the foreign visitor walking tour, led by a Korean actor-turned-docent who guides you through iconic sets, reenactments, and photo ops—no K-drama language barrier required. The commentary is available in English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese.

Look for the clapperboard-shaped Soul Spot plaques along the way. Scan one, and you’ll instantly know: this isn’t just a place—it’s a scene waiting for your story to unfold.

Smart Travel: The Soul Card Booth & AI Docent

This is where the experience goes emotional.

At the Soul Card Booth, you take a quick emotion quiz, draw your own “mood card” (Love, Happiness, Courage, Truth), and receive a personalized K-content map based on how you feel that day.

Then you explore. Each card leads you to specific SOUL SPOT destinations, like:

  • Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway (“Reborn Rich”) for “Love”
  • Baek In-je House (“Reborn Rich”) for “Truth”
  • Seokchon Lake (Crash Course in Romance) for “Happiness”
  • Jahamun Tunnel (Parasite) for “Revenge and Reality”

For a little help along the way, scan the AI Docent QR codes at each location. The guide, voiced by Korean variety star Kim Dae Ho, tells you insider stories about the set, the scene, and why it emotionally connects to Seoul.

All in your language. All in your pocket. And all ready when you are.

Where Else to Go: Must-Visit SOUL SPOT Landmarks

Here are just a few of the K-content pilgrimage stops that come alive during this event—and remain open all year:

  • Cheonggyecheon Seungyo Bridge (Vincenzo)
  • Nodeulseom Island (BTS RUN MV)
  • Hyundai Seoul / The Hyundai Mall (Queen of Tears)
  • Lotte World Tower (Along with the Gods)
  • Garak Market (Crash Course in Romance)
  • Baekbin Crossing / SeMA (Parasite)
  • Seoul Chaekbogo (Hotel Del Luna)

These will become your emotional mirrors. Each one unlocks a story in your own Hallyu memory—so take your time, collect your stamps, and revisit them long after the festival ends.

K-Content Travel Week 2025 Guide: What You Need to Know Before You Go

Planning to make the most of your 2025 K-Content Seoul Travel Week experience? Here’s what will help you navigate the scene like a pro—without missing a single moment.

Program Times Can Shift—Check Before You Go

Each event runs on its own schedule, and some attractions may open later or close early depending on the day. Before you head out, take a quick look at the official Soul Spot website or follow @visitkorea_travel on Instagram for live updates, map links, and reservation announcements in English.

Don’t Skip Reservations (Especially for Fan Events)

Many of the big fan programs—like the Squid Game finale talk or live performances—require advance reservations, and they book up fast. If you didn’t secure a spot, don’t worry. Major events like the opening parade and cast interviews will also be broadcast on large outdoor screens at Seoul Plaza. So even without a ticket, you’re still in for the full experience.

How to Get There Smoothly

Your best bet is the Gwanghwamun Station on Subway Line 5, Exit 2. From there, it’s just a short 3-minute walk (about 235 meters) to the heart of the festival at Gwanghwamun Square. If you’re coming from Seoul Station or Myeongdong, it’s an easy connection—no need for taxis.

What You’ll Bring Back (Besides Photos)

Be ready to collect more than memories.

  • Stamp your Soul Card at each event zone for a limited-edition prize
  • Get themed postcards and photo prints featuring your favorite K-drama locations
  • Earn badge-style merch by completing Soul Spot missions
  • Win AR game prizes by challenging Haechi or “The Recruiter” in digital ddakji
  • And of course—take home a camera roll filled with you starring in your own Seoul story

No suitcase needed for the feelings you’ll carry home. But you might want to save space for that free drama-themed sticker pack. Just saying.

K-Content Travel Week 2025: Your Ultimate Hallyu Experience

You’ve cried over rooftop breakups, gasped at secret alley chases, and held your breath through deadly games—but what if you could step into those very scenes, not as a spectator, but as part of the story?

K-Content Travel Week 2025 isn’t just a list of filming spots. It’s your chance to reconnect with the moments that moved you—this time, in real life. You’ll laugh where the cast once stood. Pause at the bench that carried a goodbye. Maybe even replay a scene with a prop in your hand and the skyline behind you.

This summer, Seoul becomes more than a destination. It becomes your screen, your memory, your next chapter. So tie your laces, grab your Soul Card, and start walking.

Because your Soul Spot isn’t just marked on a map.
It’s waiting for you to show up.
